OR Charge Nurse

Overview

Charge Nurse – OR/ENDO. We are a busy multispecialty ambulatory surgery center in Largo, FL looking for an experienced OR nurse to join our team as a Charge Nurse. Our current specialties include general surgery, ophthalmology, gastroenterology, pain management, and interventional nephrology.

• Active RN license in the state of FL
• 5 years of OR experience, preferably in an outpatient setting
• Experience in general surgery, ophthalmology, endoscopy, and pain management preferred.
• BLS/ACLS
• Position is full time M-F

• Works closely with Clinical Manager to plan staffing and oversee the daily OR/Endo schedule.
• Ensures adherence to proper OR standards and guidelines as recommended by accrediting agencies.
• Functions as an OR/Endoscopy circulator as needed providing safe individualized nursing care for each patient.
• Works closely with the materials manager to ensure OR supplies remain stocked and ready
• Communicate with physicians, vendor reps, management, and other staff to ensure readiness of the OR.
• Attend staff meetings as needed.

• Must have great time management skills while being detail oriented and organized
• The ability to communicate clearly with patients, physicians, management, and other health care professionals
• Strong ability to supervise, delegate, and problem solve in the moment.
• Must be able to adapt quickly to changes, staffing shortages, or unforeseen circumstances.
