Location:
nd Avenue North in Largo or 3900 Dunn Drive, Palm Harbor
Schedule:
Monday - Friday ; 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Work requires identifying, locating, and marking Pinellas County subsurface utilities to minimize accidental damage or service disruption during construction excavation activities. This involves considerable initiative in moving efficiently through the day's work assignments. Considerable independent judgment is required, as the accuracy of the locate depends heavily on how well the equipment readings are interpreted.
What Would You Do?- Locate, identify, and mark underground utilities
- Use magnetic, radar, and electrical equipment to locate lines
- Use GPR or surveying equipment to pinpoint the coordinates of lines
- Perform calculations to arrive at the depth of lines
- Follow safety protocols on job sites
- Respond to time-sensitive or emergency locate requests outside of normal working hours
- Ensures all locate equipment and County assets are properly maintained
- Completes work-related reports and/or maintains operation and maintenance logs.
- Operation of County vehicles
- Performs related work as assigned or required.
- 3 years of skilled utilities field or bench work experience
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
- Must possess and maintain a State of Florida Class A Commercial Driver's License with Tanker Endorsement within 12 months of promotion or hire date
- Experience with Utilisphere, FL811, and GIS (Mapping System)
- Temporary Traffic Control Certification within the first nine months of hire or promotion date, or the position may be demoted/terminated
- Assignment to work a variety of work schedules, including compulsory work periods in special, emergency, and/or disaster situations.
- State of Florida Department of Environmental Protection Class 3 Distribution System Operators License (DEP).
- Cityworks experience
- Knowledge of services offered by the County and other local community services agencies.
- Fluent in any languages other than English, particularly Spanish.
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule when needed.
