LSF is seeking a talented Facilities Coordinator who wants to make an impact in the lives of others.
Purpose and ImpactThe Facilities Coordinator provides support in the areas of facility maintenance, HVAC, inventory, transportation and special projects. Performs required maintenance and inspect, repair and maintain refrigeration and HVAC related equipment; perform routine and emergency repairs and adjustments to HVAC systems, buildings and facilities; monitors the warehouse and supply inventory; and management of the fleet. Participates in Quality Assurance efforts.
Essential Functions- Installs, inspects, maintains and repairs all types of refrigeration, air conditioning and ventilating equipment, such as central, chiller, wall and window air conditioning units, exhaust fans and blowers; walk-in and chest type freezers; ice machines and water coolers.
- Trouble shoots HVAC systems to determine cause of malfunctions and takes appropriate action.
- Checks air handler units to ensure most efficient operation.
- Schedules ongoing services for preventative maintenance for all equipment.
- Cleans, adjusts and repairs equipment in a preventative maintenance program.
- Assists in repairing, replacing and checking pressure relief valves.
- Prepares requisitions and maintains supply inventory and ordering necessary parts and supplies; receive and store materials and supplies; pick up supplies and equipment as necessary.
- Maintain operational records and prepares special and routine reports.
- Prepares drawings and sketches as required.
- Maintains daily and year to date records and logs on operating conditions and repairs to mechanical equipment and systems.
- Performs required maintenance and repair duties necessary to maintain facilities and buildings by performing a variety of carpentry, electrical, painting and plumbing repair and maintenance work; perform routine and emergency repairs and adjustments to building and facilities.
- Move and arrange furniture and equipment; set-up rooms for meetings and special events. Perform repairs and adjustments to equipment and facilities including changing air filters, repairing heating and air conditioning units, and perform minor concrete work including the repair of sidewalks.
- Operates and maintains power equipment and tools.
- Perform work in adherence to safe work practices and procedures and in compliance with applicable standards.
- Record, monitor and track inventoried assets. Performs random and scheduled inventory audits.
- Maintains inventory data base of added, deleted and the relocation of program assets.
- Arranges, coordinates, and schedules programmatic transportation requests.
- Provides support with program Fleet activities and operates vehicles (e.g. passenger vans, mini vans etc.).
- Records accidents and incidents. Reports claims to the insurance carrier and coordinates repairs when applicable. Coordinates receipt of insurance certificate requests.
- Recommends changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work.
- Receive and distribute supplies and equipment from vendors, centers, and or administration offices.
- Conducts monthly fleet audits, to include but not limited to: fluid monitoring, driving capabilities, tire pressure, etc.
- Maintains a complete inventory system through recording of all expenditures and income of each vehicle, maintenance equipment, fuel, repair parts, supplies, etc.
- Monitors a preventative maintenance program to assure cost effective maintenance and a scheduled maintenance program for fleet.
- Responsible for the maintenance and repair scheduling of all vehicles and equipment.
- Maintain assigned vehicle, tools and equipment.
- Attends workshops and meetings as deemed necessary by the Facilities Operations Manager.
- Maintains strict confidentiality with respect to Head Start children, families and staff in accordance with LSF and its policies and procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

- Mobility: Must be able to move freely throughout Head Start centers and facilities, including navigating stairs, tight spaces, and uneven surfaces.
- Lifting: Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment, furniture, and supplies up to 75 pounds unassisted.
- Manual Dexterity: Must be able to use hand tools and operate maintenance equipment safely and efficiently.
- Standing/Walking: Requires prolonged periods of standing, walking, and occasionally bending, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
