This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Circuit 06 (Largo/St. Pete) in the Information Technology department.
The mission of the Office of Information Technology is to deliver innovative, reliable, and secure technology solutions that support the strategic objectives and operational needs of the organization.
This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.
Job Duties- Multi-Site IT Support: Provide comprehensive support for computer systems across major institutions, probation & parole offices, community facilities, and other Department sites.
- Network Management: Plan, design, implement, and troubleshoot local area networks and client/server architecture, ensuring seamless connectivity and software installation.
- Statewide System Installation: Oversee the installation and support of a statewide network, including site surveys, cabling, equipment setup, and post-installation troubleshooting.
- Technical System Management: Install and support network computers, manage system backups, recovery, and troubleshooting, ensuring smooth operation of all IT systems.
- Collaborative Problem Solving: Coordinate with other DP areas and agencies to resolve IT issues, maintain inventory of Data Processing equipment, and support VoIP phones, mobile devices, and Education and Re-Entry Programs.

- Must possess a High school diploma or its equivalent
- Must possess a valid drivers’ license.

- Must have IT experience and/or education

Additional Information Background Screening RequirementThe Florida Department of Corrections requires all job applicants and volunteers to pass a Level 2 background check as per Chapter 435, Florida Statutes. This check must be completed before they can start working or volunteering.
