Specialty Pharmacist Responsibilities
  • The Specialty Pharmacist would be expected to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care to patients with complex, chronic or rare conditions requiring specialty medications. The role includes clinical review, patient counseling, adherence monitoring, coordination with prescribers and ensuring safe and effective medication use. The pharmacist ensures compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards while supporting positive clinical and financial outcomes.
  • Duties may include – Review and verify specialty prescriptions for accuracy, appropriateness and clinical effectiveness, financial assistance, education and training and clinical expertise, monitor patient progress and manage side effects and perform follow up assessments
Certifications And Licensure
  • Required :
    Pharmacist - State of FL
Requirements
  • Required :
    Bachelor's Degree;
    Pharm

    D preferred
  • Preferred :
    • Prior experience in specialty or clinical pharmacy
    • Knowledge of specialty pharmacy accreditation requirements (URAC and ACHC)
    • Familiarity with specialty therapeutic areas (e.g. Oncology, neurology, rheumatology and gastroenterology)
