The X‑ray Tech – Medical Assistant will perform patient vital sign monitoring, collections of lab specimens, EKGs and IM injections, provide all x‑ray/imaging services per provider orders, maintain EHR documentation, apply splints/dressings, assist with check‑in/check‑out and maintain lab and drug screen records. The role supports clinic efficiency and patient satisfaction.
Responsibilities- Take vital signs, collect lab specimens, perform EKGs, administer IM injections
- Perform all x‑ray/imaging services per provider orders and update patient charts
- Collect patient history and document in EHR appropriately
- Apply splints, dressings and bandages when required
- Assist with check‑in/check‑out and audit charts as needed
- Maintain records and logs of in‑house lab work, drug screens and other lab work sent to external labs
- Keep patients and visitors informed of clinic progress
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in a patient care setting (preferred)
- Experience using an EHR system (beneficial)
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or completion of an approved program (BOTP) (required)
- Radiological Technologist (RT) or Basic X‑ray Machine Operator (BMXO/BMO) license in state of residency (required)
- Current certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) (preferred)
- Current BLS Certification (required within 30 days of start)
- Obtain Federal Breath Alcohol Screening Certification and Federal Drug Screening Certification within 3 months of employment or promotion (required)
