Receptionist (Part Time/PRN)
Sabal Palms Health & Rehabilitation is a 244‑bed skilled nursing facility located on The Palms of Largo campus. We are seeking an exceptional Part Time/PRN Receptionist to greet and assist visitors, residents, callers, and staff, ensuring exemplary customer service at all times. The role includes weekday and weekend hours, answering phones, assisting with resident trust accounts, maintaining a friendly and organized front desk, and performing various administrative tasks.

The primary purpose of this position is to greet and assist visitors, residents, callers and provide exemplary customer service at all times. As directed by your supervisor, perform administrative support functions efficiently and in accordance with established procedures.
Responsibilities- Greet visitors, residents, and vendors in a courteous and professional manner; identify visitors and direct them to the appropriate location; process and record visitor information.
- Answer the telephone, determine the nature of the call, and direct the caller to the appropriate individual or department.
- Respond to requests from within the community; identify and locate appropriate personnel.
- Maintain resident information by name and room number, including eligibility to receive calls, emergency phone contacts, depot extensions, and key personnel.
- Exercise discretion in releasing information so that confidentiality and privacy are maintained; store information in a secure manner.
- Identify security concerns and notify supervisor or proper authorities.
- Effectively communicate facility policies and procedures to visitors, staff and vendors.
- Perform administrative duties such as typing, copying, filing, posting accounts, sorting mail, ordering supplies and repairs, and mailing doctor's orders.
- Maintain a clean and professional work environment.
- Document and resolve concerns or relay them to the appropriate staff.
- Conduct small monetary transactions for ticket sales and similar duties.
- Attend and participate in service‑training programs to meet state and federal requirements.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions, and accept constructive criticism.
- Tactful handling of personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public.
- Capacity to work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and potentially hostile individuals within the facility.
- Proficiency in speaking, writing, and understanding English to effectively communicate with supervisors, employees, residents, and families.
- Prefer a high school diploma or GED.
- Prefer experience in a clerical position or completion of a secretarial science program from an accredited institution.
