Assistant Coach (Soccer) – Responsibilities
  • Assist the head coach with routine administrative responsibilities and team management.
  • Provide instruction and coaching in goalkeeping training to student‑athletes.
  • Recruit and scout prospective student‑athletes from high school, junior and community colleges.
  • Make recommendations to the head coach regarding potential of student‑athletes.
  • Maintain current NCAA guidelines, rosters, and scholarship information using compliance software.
  • Coordinate schedules, submit weekly countable hours reports, and report any NCAA violations to proper officials.
  • Assist head coach in coordinating team travel, competitive schedule, practice sessions, and recruiting databases.
  • Implement and maintain a comprehensive public relations program.
  • Manage operations of sport camps and/or clinics.
  • Manage department fundraising and booster events in accordance with NCAA, Lone Star Conference, and institutional rules.
  • Enforce student‑athlete conduct, appearance, punctuality, and road game rules.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Ensure satisfactory academic performance of student‑athletes.
  • Manage study hall hours and coordinate with academic advisers to monitor and support student‑athletes’ academic progress.
Education
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution.
Experience
  • Experience: One (1) year previous high school, collegiate or higher-level goalkeeping coaching experience preferred.
