PositionSummary
We are seeking a results-driven Quality Engineer to support and improve operational quality within our cross-border transportation and supply chain network. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements (FMCSA, SCT, USMCA), drives process standardization, and leads quality initiatives focused on reducing defects, improving service levels, and enhancing customer satisfaction across our U.S.–Mexico logistics operations.
Quality & Compliance- Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance standards and procedures across transportation and warehousing operations.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with U.S. and Mexican regulations (e.g., DOT/FMCSA, SCT, Carta Porte, customs documentation).
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action processes for service failures, delays, cargo damage, and non-conformance.
- Support internal and external audits, including C-TPAT, ISO, and customer audits.
- Analyze service quality data and operational KPIs (on-time %, damage rate, claims, dwell time).
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, 5S) to reduce cost and improve operational performance.
- Collaborate with carriers, warehouse partners, and customs brokers to resolve quality issues and improve reliability.
- Develop and maintain training content for frontline teams on quality procedures, safety protocols, and compliance standards.
- Create and enforce SOPs for transportation quality checks, cross-dock handling, and customs documentation.
- Partner with transportation, warehousing, IT, procurement, and customer service teams on quality initiatives.
- Act as a quality liaison for key cross-border clients and carriers.
- Travel is required based on business needs and operational priorities. This role may require domestic and international travel to customer, supplier, carrier, vendor, and other Pro Trans facilities throughout the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
- Travel may be necessary to support audits, quality investigations, process implementations, training, and cross-functional initiatives.
- Travel frequency will vary depending on project scope, business demands, and network requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in quality assurance within logistics, transportation, or supply chain environments.
- Knowledge of cross-border freight operations, including customs processes and Mexico/U.S. trade regulations.
- Experience with ISO 9001, Lean, Six Sigma (Green Belt preferred), and root cause tools (5 Whys, Fishbone).
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) – required.
- Experience working with WMS/TMS systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Mercury Gate).
- Familiarity with C-TPAT, Carta Porte, or IMMEX regulations.
- Certification in Quality Engineering (CQE) or similar – a plus.
