Overview
Assists Lift Station Operator to meet Texas Commission Environmental Quality (TCEQ) regulations. Inspects and maintains water treatment plant systems, lift station, and sewer lines to ensure proper operations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Helps maintain plants to ensure they are in proper operating condition. Cleans and performs preventative maintenance on equipment and tools. Inspections and maintenance of lift station and pumps.
- Repairs and installs valves, plugs, pipes, lateral/drain lines, and sewer manhole rings and covers.
- Prepares and completes concrete work; conducts traffic control.
- Serves on-call for equipment-related emergencies.
- Performs related work as required.

Education and Experience
- At least three (3) months of general experience. Experience in plumbing, mechanical repair, maintenance or labor work is preferred.
- Valid Texas Driver License. If applicant holds an out-of-state license, a State of Texas Driver License must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
As part of the minimum requirements for all positions with the City of Laredo, a thorough background check and certified school transcripts will be required from all applicants who are offered employment.
