SUMMARY - Buidling Maintenance Specialist
Schedule:
Mon-Fri 7am - 4pm
This position performs routine maintenance of the facility including grounds. Additional duties include basic plumbing, carpentry, painting, office furniture, and partitions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESOther duties may be assigned.
- Daily housekeeping of office and grounds (sweeping, mopping, trash removal, replacing toilet paper, hand towels, soap, etc..)
- Perform various maintenance functions that may include but not limited to: light bulb changes (ceiling and dock lights), filter changes (AC, Ice Makers), lock repairs, caulking, painting, minor plumbing (change floats, change handles, turn off/on water).
- Responsible for House Keeping Inventory
- Responsible for Tool Crib (Maintenance of tools & Inventory of tools)
- Open and closing crates
- Use of basic tools and power tools required (drills, hammer, crow bar, screw drivers, leaf blower)
- Minor Dock door repairs (change latches, replacement of pull rope for dock doors)
- Maintain chock wheels in yard (installing new and replacing chains)
- Installing local signage
- Floor repairs (epoxy coating, tile- ceramic and VCT)
- Build Chairs, office desks, cubicle repairs,
- General painting to include aerosol paints
- Operates forklift, man lift, and pallet jack when needed.
- Identifies and implements continual improvement initiatives to enhance the performance of the position, team, and company.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEHigh School Diploma and one to three years work experience.
Ability to operate general warehouse equipment, including forklift, man lift, and pallet jacks.
Language SkillsThis position requires the ability to speak the common language of the geographic area in which the employee works. The ability to read, write, and speak English is preferred.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITYAbility to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individual with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The position requires the physical ability to climb ladders and stand for extended periods of time. There is the need for bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting equipment up to 50 lbs.
General upkeep is required of the personal workspace and department area. It may be necessary to climb and descend stairs daily and evacuate the building in case of emergency. Employees must be able to hear to perform their essential job functions.
