The Risk Coordinator is responsible for identifying and reporting actual or potential risk issues and assisting in developing and implementing risk reduction practices under the auspices of the Risk Management Director.
Essential Job Functions- Assist the Director of Risk Management in planning and coordinating the implementation of risk initiatives.
- Demonstrate the ability to provide guidance to staff in risk reduction/prevention strategies.
- Handle Healthcare Peer Review Report data entry and assist with review, investigation and follow up.
- Compile monthly and quarterly Midas data for reports.
- Handle claims activity and departmental organizational activities for identified risk exposures working with attorneys, staff and external agencies.
- Demonstrate Service Excellence at all times.
- Review, process, monitor, and trend monthly incident reports.
- Complete monthly incident reports as required by the Patient Safety Council Committee and participate in QA or Risk meetings as assigned.
- Conduct Medical Record reviews relating to Risk audits and prepare summary reports while protecting confidentiality of all risk related data and information.
- Work with departmental staff and managers in providing risk reduction education and support.
- Develop expertise in risk reduction/prevention statistical tools and methodologies and monitor their effectiveness.

- Current RN Texas license.
- Minimum of 3‑5 years acute care clinical experience.
- Must be able to interpret clinical data/reports.
- Requires review and analysis of patient care records.
- One or more years experience in risk or quality preferred.
- Healthcare/Legal background preferred.
- Knowledge of statistical tools preferred.
- Must be computer literate.
