Job SummaryWorks with Surgery and Materials Management to maintain appropriate par stock levels of OR items; coordinates vendor supply ordering.
Essential Job Functions- Coordinates and maintains appropriate par stock levels of OR items. All records regarding additions and deletions to stock items are kept current.
- Communicates and serves in an advisory capacity to OR for supply needs.
- Reviews the open order file for overdue shipments and backorders.
- Maintains orderly placement of supplies and existing inventory.
- Establishes appropriate par stock levels and reorder points based on minimum/maximum supply utilization; makes adjustments as required.
- Coordinates vendor supply ordering.
- Establishes and adheres to vendor ordering calendar.
- Establishes and adjusts changes to par stock levels.
- Demonstrates utilization and support of UHS contracts.
- Reviews purchasing systems for order and delivery information.
- Communicates OR needs to vendors and works collaboratively with service leaders to hold vendors accountable for accurate inventory.
- Responsible for oversight, consolidation, controlling and accurate reporting of supply inventory.
- Assists in the physical inventory of supply items in the OR.
- Works collaboratively with OR staff and vendors to identify and prevent outdated supply cost/waste.
- Assists in tracking equipment utilization, repairs, and orders.
- Works with service leaders to establish a replacement equipment plan and purchase plan to meet the needs of the surgeons.
- Responsible for promoting and participating in the achievement of the goals and objectives of the OR. Maintains a position of trust, confidence, and respect.
- Keeps the OR Director/Manager informed of current activities and any major discrepancies with vendors or interdepartmental supply/equipment issues.
- In addition to OR assignments, will inventory, stock, and maintain supply and equipment inventory in collaboration with the OR Distribution Technician.
- Will track vendor orders in the purchasing system to ensure timely request and delivery for scheduled cases.
- Works collaboratively with service leaders and charge coordinator to update preference sheets (pick sheets).
- Provides feedback to staff regarding supply utilization and ordering methods.
