Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Academic Success Coach Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the academic support services and supervision of the Center for Learning, Academic, and Student Success at the South Campus. This includes maintaining the required supervision of student workers and tutors. The Academic Success Coach Coordinator is also responsible for ensuring the development of workshops to assist students seeking assistance in various disciplines and supervising and administering makeup testing (face-to-face and online) for instructors and providing the necessary educational support to all students.
The Academic Success Coach Coordinator is also responsible for coordinating the delivery of workshops throughout the semester and summer months. The Academic Success Coach is required to understand the use of technology platforms for tutoring and other student support services initiatives. Furthermore, they are required to work closely with the Director of the Center for Learning, Academic, and Student Success, Academic Success Coaches, faculty, lab assistants, student workers, and tutors.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervises and/or administers make-up exams (face-to-face and online) for instructors.
- Supervises student workers and tutors for all subject areas.
- Administers tutor budget and makes recommendations for hiring of tutors.
- Coordinates with Center staff in identifying, developing, and implementing learning strategies and study skills.
- Monitors students referred by faculty to ensure students are receiving the appropriate academic coaching.
- Works closely with faculty to coordinate faculty CLASS hours at the Center.
- Coordinates with Center staff to ensure that students are developing self-efficacy by identifying and overcoming obstacles that may be impeding academic success.
- Coordinates with Center staff to ensure that students are receiving academic support in the areas of time management, organizational skills, and other skills necessary for student success.
- Assists Academic Success Coaches in conducting academic coaching through individual or group sessions and workshops that will help students assess their own performance and develop academic success plans.
- Develops and delivers academic success workshops on various topics throughout the semester and summer camp programs.
- Assists the Director in developing and implementing programs such as peer mentoring, student success workshops, and summer camps on various topics surrounding student success strategies.
- Researches, evaluates, and recommends the purchase of student success technology programs and services.
- Acts as site supervisor and point of contact for the Center for Learning, Academic, and Student Success at the South Campus when the Director is not available.
- Works closely with Student Support Services staff.
- Performs additional duties assigned by the Director of the Center for Learning, Academic, and Student Success.

Required- Bachelor’s degree with related course work in either Reading, English, Mathematics, Education, or Business.
- Experience in higher education specifically in the areas of student support, success, retention, and academic success.
- Must be proficient in technology used for tutoring and other student success related initiatives.

- Degree in Reading, English, Mathematics, Education or Business.
- Must be proficient with personal computer usage, presentation software, and technology, development of academic student success programs/workshops, and troubleshooting technical issues.
- Must have effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Must be self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with students, parents, and faculty.
