Required:
Yes - Credentialing Timeline:
Standard emergency medicine credentialing range 3090 days
- Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance:
Covered - Full scope of Emergency Medicine procedures
- ACLS, ATLS, and PALS certifications required (ATLS current not required for ABEM-certified physicians)
- Annual requirement: 9 hours of Stroke CME and 9 hours of Trauma CME
- Licenses:
Active Texas Medical License and DEA (with TX address) - Board:
Board Certified in ABEM, ABFM, or ABIM (or osteopathic equivalents) - Certifications:
ACLS, ATLS, and PALS required;
Current ATLS not required for ABEM providers (initial ATLS required) - Experience:
Residency trained in Emergency Medicine or relevant specialty - Other
Qualifications:
Annual Stroke CME (9 hours), Annual Trauma CME (9 hours), case logs for past 2 years; copies of all diplomas, SS card, driver's license, and photo required for MSO submission
- Provide comprehensive emergency medical care for patients presenting to the ED
- Assess, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic conditions in an emergency setting
- Coordinate with nursing and support staff for efficient patient throughput
- Document all encounters accurately within the EMR system
- Participate in emergency response and trauma activations as required
