JOB TITLE:
Upward Bound Summer Program Comp/Lit Instructor
JOB PURPOSE:
Design and deliver an age-appropriate, subject-specific, four-week curriculum taught to multiple grade levels that encompasses a range of participant ages and learning styles. Dates of summer program (including training) are May 26th-July 3rd 2026. This is a temporary position May 26th-July 3rd. The total pay of $2000 is to be split as follows:
May - $308, June - $1,538, July - $154
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work cooperatively with the Research Mentor to guide participants to successfully complete a research paper.
- Facilitate participants’ completion of a research paper, including an abstract, thesis statement, hypothesis, research details and results, and bibliography.
- Assist participants to improve their comprehension of professional research articles and books assigned by the Research Mentor.
- Must be available to teach Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 8:30am-10:30am for the duration of the summer program and attend study hall at least twice per week Monday, Wednesday or Thursday 3:30pm-5pm.
- Attend all weekly academic meetings, as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Junior standing at the undergraduate level in English or related field; 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher
Successful criminal background check necessary for working with minors is required

On-campus: This position provides vital support to campus customers, and the successful candidate must be available to work and perform essential job functions on campus, understanding our location is at 7,220 feet above sea level.
