Join the Louisiana Department of Health as an Economic Stability Manager and lead the operations of the Economic Stability Program
. This highly responsible leadership role oversees the accurate and timely delivery of critical benefits that support individuals and families across multiple assistance programs, including SNAP, FITAP, KCAP, LCAP, and Disaster SNAP. The position offers the opportunity to manage complex federal and state program requirements, ensure operational excellence, and play a direct role in safeguarding program integrity while making a meaningful difference in the lives of Louisiana citizens.
- Seven years of economic stability social services experience; OR
- Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus four years of economic stability social services experience; OR
- A bachelor’s degree plus four years of economic stability social services experience; OR
- An advanced degree in a social sciences field, business, public, or health administration plus three years of economic stability social services experience.
- EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
- Plans, directs, and oversees the implementation and operation of all Economic Stability programs within the parish office(s) to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant delivery of benefits.
- Establishes objectives, monitors performance indicators, evaluates program outcomes, and reviews quality control measures, including error rates, to support operational efficiency and program integrity.
- Manages personnel functions for parish office staff, including recruitment, hiring, supervision, performance management, discipline, promotions, conflict resolution, and grievance handling.
- Provides direct supervision to ES Supervisors and indirect supervision to all other staff, delegating authority as appropriate and holding staff accountable for achieving departmental goals.
- Develops and maintains partnerships with community providers and stakeholders, represents the department in community and outreach activities, and serves as the primary point of contact for contracts, audits, and corrective actions.
- Ensures disaster preparedness and response readiness, including maintaining call trees, coordinating staff and resources, and managing implementation of Disaster SNAP procedures during declared emergencies.
