Manufacturing Engineering Intern

Job Summary

The Manufacturing Engineering Intern will support manufacturing and operations teams in process improvement, machine cycle time studies, and documentation management. This internship provides hands‑on experience in optimizing production processes and maintaining manufacturing documentation.

This internship is located in Lapeer, MI and is fully onsite.

Essential Functions
  • Support process improvement initiatives, including time studies and cycle time analysis.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve manufacturing documentation, such as work instructions and Bills of Materials (BOM).
  • Assist in coordinating cross‑departmental projects and help implement new manufacturing processes.
  • Analyze production data and provide actionable insights to enhance efficiency and safety.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to implement best practice in production and process development.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Attention to detail and organizational ability.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast‑paced engineering environment.
Education & Experience
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four‑year college or university and one to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
Background Prerequisites

Must undergo and meet company standards for background check, employment verification, reference checks, physical, and controlled substance testing.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience with researching topics.
  • Previous employment with a focus on teamwork.
