Lead Dispatcher

Lead Dispatcher – Lansing, Michigan

Transdev in Lansing, Michigan is hiring a Lead Dispatcher. The Lead Dispatcher ensures the Dispatch team fills all routes and provides operators with timely instructions and responses. We are seeking customer service‑oriented professionals who are dedicated to safety.

• Starting hourly rate of $20–$23.50
• Vacation: minimum of two (2) weeks
• Sick days: 5 days
• Holidays: 12 days (8 standard and 4 floating)

• Oversee road service and trip performance measures (route start time, on‑time performance, incidents)
• Respond to customer questions and concerns about no shows, cancellations, and missed trips
• Manage vehicle operator emergency situations & escalated calls
• Supervise staff on weekends and evenings
• Manage department reports and other communication tools
• Support the Dispatch Supervisor in training new employees
• Other duties as required

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Minimum of 2–3 years of transit supervisory experience preferred
• Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
• Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed
• Subject to DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.

• Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces
• Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level

• Be eligible to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship now or in the future (if based in the U.S.)
• Successfully pass a pre‑employment drug screen
