Position Overview

This role functions as a student assistant to the Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB), performing a variety of duties as needed by MGCB staff, including:

  • Data entry and populating information databases
  • Providing general office assistance and support to management and staff
  • Creating Excel spreadsheets and Word documents
  • Preparing rooms for meetings
  • Performing special projects as needed

Student Assistants must provide evidence of enrollment or acceptance to an educational institution.

Ethical Standards and Conduct

Employment in the state classified service demands a high degree of loyalty and ethical standards. All employees must meet these standards and report any possible conflict of interest. Ethical standards apply to all applicants and employees.

Pre‑Employment Requirements

The Board conducts personal reference screening, criminal background check, drug testing, and federal and state tax transcript. A reference check from a current or most recent supervisor is required. Candidates must submit a pre‑employment drug test within 24 hours of receiving a conditional offer.
