ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
* Constructs and repairs furniture, such as tables, desks, credenzas, cabinets, and bookcases
* Constructs and repairs historic furniture
* Fabricates and installs decorative wood carvings, moldings, doors and frames, trim and other items
* Engineers, designs and constructs jigs and templates for custom cutting, routering and moldings for furniture and cabinet construction
* Installs and fixes locksets and door closers
* Studies blueprints, sketches and prepares work orders to determine materials and equipment required for assigned work
SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Operates, maintains, and makes routine repairs of hand and power tools and equipment of the carpentry trade
* Moves furniture, office equipment and other objects as needed
* Performs all other duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager
* High School diploma or equivalent required
* Three years' experience in the carpentry trade
* Other combinations of education and experience evaluated on an individual basis
* Ability to work from heights, climb, crawl, stoop, bend, and stand for long periods of time
* Ability to work long hours and adjust work schedule, as needed
* Strong customer service skills
* Ability to follow directions, work independently, and work as a group
* Ability to communicate effectively
* Ability to work outside of prescribed work hours when necessary
* Ability to maintain confidential information
* Ability to work in a professional and nonpartisan manner
* Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with legislators and other elected officials, staff, vendors, and other agencies

Salaried, with a standard benefit package
SALARY: $50,000 - $70,000
