Position OverviewLevel III Tower Technician – a non‑exempt, onsite role with full travel nationwide. The role requires at least 2 years in wireless tower maintenance and the ability to climb tall structures under direct supervision.
Roles and Responsibilities- Decommission towers and tower equipment safely and efficiently.
- Perform PIM, RF sweep, and fiber tests as requested from the tower top.
- Install and route coax, hybrid trunks, and jumpers.
- Hang booms, mounts, antennas, and rig towers in Class III and Class IV rigging scenarios.
- Build out tower platforms and perform ice bridge installation.
- Wire RF capabilities, install flash lighting controllers, and troubleshoot fiber, power, and RF issues.
- Take pre‑construction and closeout photos.
- Install microwave dishes, antennas, RRUs, and other wireless equipment.
- Climb and work on towers for installation, replacement, and repair under supervision.
- Follow safety procedures for tower climbing, construction equipment, and energized lines.
- Climb at least 100 ft with a 50 lb load and perform other position duties when requested.
- Minimum 2 years of tower technician experience in the wireless industry.
- Strong belief in safety and well‑being of team members.
- Ability to climb tall structures (100 ft or more) with a 50 lb load.
- Knowledge of tower rigging, RF, fiber, and maintenance equipment.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; 4+ years of wireless experience preferred.
- First Aid / CPR certification, RF Awareness Training, OSHA 10 certification preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required.
- 100% travel nationwide.
- Work in various physical positions (sitting, squatting, standing, walking, climbing).
- Exposure to all weather conditions; required protective equipment (glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hat, steel‑toed boots).
The starting pay for this position is $26.00 per hour and may vary based on the candidate’s skills, experience, and qualifications.
