Field Service Technician

Direct Hire – Nov 3 2025 – Control System Integrators, East Lansing, MI.

About the role

CSI is seeking a Field Service Technician to join our growing team.

Responsibilities
  • Travel to customer sites (50%–70%) to install, commission, and service control panels and automation systems.
  • Perform electrical and mechanical assembly, wiring, and panel integration.
  • Conduct system troubleshooting—both hardware and software—on‑site and remotely.
  • Modify and troubleshoot basic Allen‑Bradley PLC programs as needed.
  • Work directly with customers to identify and resolve system issues and ensure satisfaction.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
  • Document service activities, system updates, and field modifications accurately.
  • Maintain a professional attitude and communication with customers and team members.
  • Ensure all work meets safety standards and company quality requirements.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in panel building, electrical systems, or industrial automation.
  • Proficiency with electrical schematics, control wiring, and panel layout.
  • Basic experience with Allen‑Bradley PLCs (RSLogix / Studio 5000) for programming and troubleshooting.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving skills—hardware and software.
  • Ability to work independently in the field and collaborate effectively with others.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel 50%–70% (domestic and/or international).
  • Valid driver’s license, eligible to obtain passport, and ability to meet travel requirements.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with HMI programming (Factory Talk, Panel View, etc.).
  • Familiarity with VFDs, motion control, and industrial communication protocols (Ether Net/IP, Modbus, etc.).
  • OSHA or electrical safety training.
  • Experience in system commissioning or field service environments.
  • Excellent physical condition and flexibility to work long shifts.
