Armed Security Officer
Location:
Greater Lansing, MI
Rate: $19.50-$21.00 per hour (varies by work site)
Employment Type:
Part‑time (16–36 hours per week based on availability)
Weekend availability is required.

About the JobThis part‑time role can extend to a maximum of 36 hours per week, with intermittent overtime opportunities as business needs arise. Shift openings are Monday through Sunday, covering 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts.
Security Officer Duties- Customer Service:
Maintain a positive, professional demeanor while assisting client staff, visitors, and coworkers. - Observe and Report:
Stay alert for suspicious activity and report incidents promptly. - Security Presence:
Stand guard in building lobbies, reception areas, control centers, and other designated locations. - Patrols:
Execute foot and/or vehicle patrols to secure assigned areas. - Access Control:
Verify employee and vendor IDs and enforce proper access procedures to prevent unauthorized entry. - Safety Patrol:
Enforce site policies and report any safety concerns to maintain a secure environment. - Emergency Response:
Respond to emergencies, including providing CPR, first aid, and AED care, and coordinate with emergency personnel. - Security Liaison:
Communicate professionally with client staff and update site supervisors or operations managers on key matters. - Other duties as assigned.
- 21 years of age or older.
- Current, unexpired Michigan CPL.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Good moral character; eligibility to pass a criminal background check with no disqualifying convictions.
- Pass a psychological evaluation.
- Pass a drug test at hire and annually thereafter.
- Present a friendly, positive, professional image per our Appearance and Grooming policy.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- English reading and writing proficiency to interpret safety rules and operating procedures.
- Intermediate computer skills.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and work indoors or outdoors for 8–12 hours at a time, regardless of weather.
- Capacity to lift 70 pounds.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Michigan Concealed Pistol License (CPL)
