Job Summary

Proofs and bakes unfinished bakery goods by following product handling information using ovens and/or other equipment. Unpacks bakery goods, displays amounts based on production charts, and follows safe handling and storage instructions. Maintains cleaning and safety standards within the bakery department.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities

• Answer questions and recommend bakery items; handle member calls and special orders.
• Proof and bake unfinished bakery goods, gather products for the next business day, and package baked goods.
• Decorate special orders, rotate and store products following food safety policies, and inspect shipments.
• Ensure products are fresh and meet quality standards; check for out-of-date items and manage salvage policies.
• Generate labels and price tickets; perform price checks as needed.
• Clean and sanitize equipment, fixtures, and surfaces; operate bakery equipment safely.
• Maintain club policies, perform other duties as assigned, including cross-department work.
• Regular, predictable full attendance is an essential function.

Qualifications

• Experience in bakery or customer service environment preferred.
• Knowledge of bakery products preferred.
• At least 18 years of age.

Environmental Job Conditions

• Indoor environment with temperature extremes from freezers, ovens, and coolers; frequent movement on non-hard surfaces.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds; may require assistance for heavier items.
• Possible exposure to cleaning agents.

Compensation

Pay transparency: starting pay range is from $16.25 per hour. Actual salary varies by location, education, experience, and qualifications.
