Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level 1 Trauma Emergency Department position requiring a current MI RN license and certifications in ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS.
Responsibilities- Work in a Level 1 Trauma Center Emergency Department that also serves as a Stroke and Heart Center and includes a Pediatric Emergency Department
- Night shift schedule of four 12-hour shifts per week from 19:00 to 07:30
- Required to work three weekends (Friday-Sunday) per four-week schedule
- Floating to Pediatric Emergency Department may be required
- High patient ratios (typically 1:5-6, potentially up to 1:8 during peak times or holidays)
- Uses the Epic EMR system, with experience preferred but orientation provided
- Provide emergency nursing care for a broad range of adult and pediatric trauma, stroke, and cardiac cases
- Opportunities for procedural and continuous IV sedation as well as triage responsibilities
- Unit accepts first-time travelers
- Returning staff must have a 12-month gap before returning as a traveler
- Up to 5 days of requested time off (RTO) allowed per assignment, all RTO must be submitted with application
- No RTO approved between March 27th and April 12th
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travelers
- Active MI RN license required by start date (compact licenses not accepted)
- Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS (AHA), PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS; ENPC preferred
- Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department nursing experience required
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- Experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias necessary
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Ability to provide proof of high school level education
