Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level I Trauma Center requiring MI licensure and current ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIH certifications.
Responsibilities- Work in the Emergency Department of a Level I Trauma Center, Stroke Center, Heart Center, and Pediatric Emergency Department
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours) from 19:00 to 07:30
- Required to work 3 weekends (Friday-Sunday) per 4 week schedule, which may include working 1, 2, or all 3 weekend days
- Floating to pediatric emergency care may be required
- No on-call responsibilities
- High patient ratios commonly 1:5-6, but may be up to 8 depending on unit needs and holidays
- Uses Epic charting system
- Responsibilities include care for adult and pediatric emergency patients in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Returning travel or permanent staff must wait 12 months before being eligible for reemployment
- All requested time off must be submitted up front and is limited to a maximum of 5 days per assignment; no additional RTO will be approved later
- Requested time off is not permitted between March 27 and April 12
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers
- Epic training is provided in orientation
- Department has high-acuity patient care standards and supports a collaborative team environment
- Active MI RN license required by start date
- Minimum 2 years of recent emergency department nursing experience required
- Level I trauma experience required
- Certifications required at time of consideration: ACLS, BLS (AHA), PALS, TNCC, and NIH Stroke Scale
- ENPC certification preferred
- Experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Continuous IV sedation, procedural sedation, and triage experience preferred
- Proof of high school education required
