Based in Lansing, MI, this onsite role focuses on developing products that safeguard food and feed, while enhancing animal health and genomics. As an experienced production planner, you will play a crucial role in optimizing complex production schedules and capacity planning within our client's manufacturing operations.
Role OverviewIn this role, you will:
- Develop and execute efficient production schedules using SAP/SPAP, ensuring alignment with engineering plans and demand forecasts.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Quality teams to create realistic and effective production plans.
- Lead finite scheduling activities, optimizing sequencing and resource utilization to meet service level and shipment targets.
- Anticipate and address production constraints, adjusting schedules to mitigate risks related to materials, labor, and equipment.
- Utilize ERP tools for accurate material planning and inventory management, coordinating with procurement activities.
- Analyze production reports and metrics to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Review and ensure compliance of SOPs, BOMs, and production records with quality systems and regulatory requirements.
- Guide junior planners and influence cross-functional partners through data-driven recommendations.
We are looking for candidates with:
- 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing production planning or scheduling.
- Proficiency with SAP, including finite scheduling and capacity planning.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across functions.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or equivalent experience (preferred).
- Experience in regulated, high-mix, or high-volume manufacturing environments (preferred).
