Building Aide - Head Start Program - Lansing, MI

CACS, Inc. is hiring a Building Aide for the Head Start and Early Childhood Programs.

This position is 40 hours a week, 50 weeks a year. The starting rate for this position is $13.33

Performs job duties for a variety of cleaning and custodial maintenance tasks inside the buildings and on the grounds surrounding the outside of the building.

• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Experience: A minimum of one year of related experience in janitorial and groundskeeper duties.

• Cleans, sweeps, and mops hard surface areas and vacuums carpeted areas daily.
• Cleans, dusts, and/or polishes windows and sills, doors and door casings, baseboards, registers, woodwork, and furniture bi-weekly or monthly.
• Maintains bathrooms by cleaning and disinfecting sinks, mirrors, toilets, floors, and walls daily. Stocks with supplies when needed.
• Collects and disposes of garbage from building and grounds. Replaces trash container bags daily.
• Sets up and takes down tables and chairs for activities.
• Shovels snow and salts paved areas as needed.
• Performs basic maintenance work as assigned.
• Performs miscellaneous tasks including cleaning blinds, fans, emptying cigarette butt receptacles, replacing light bulbs, reordering supplies, etc.
• Assist with other duties as defined and/or requested.
