Job Summary

This position provides oversight, leadership, accountability, and project management functions for large strategic projects and programs with high visibility at the Agency Executive level. These initiatives require a fully dedicated project manager due to the level of complexity, intricate detail, and accountability to executive leadership. Strategic projects typically involve a large and diverse group of stakeholders, vendor participation, coordination of multiple complex schedules, and significant integration with other systems.

The Project Manager ensures alignment with the SUITE Project Management Methodology
, oversees long-term release planning, and regularly interacts with project teams to monitor budget, quality, and schedule while escalating issues and risks to executive leadership when necessary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and monitor project CONTROLLING methods to ensure timely knowledge and awareness of changes to project cost, quality, or schedule.
  • Provide PLANNING, STAFFING, and REPORTING to ensure successful completion of assigned projects according to sponsor goals and objectives.
  • Ensure planning, staffing, and reporting adhere to the SUITE Project Management Methodology and the Agency’s project prioritization process.
  • Oversee project lifecycle activities from initiation through closeout.
  • Direct and coordinate day-to-day activities, tasks, and deliverables required from the project team according to the project plan.
  • Coordinate project schedules, vendor participation, and system integration activities across multiple teams.
  • Escalate risks, issues, and project concerns to executive leadership as necessary.
  • Perform additional functions as needed to support the overall operations and objectives of the Department of Technology, Management & Budget (DTMB).
Required Experience
  • Thorough knowledge of Project Management principles, concepts, and practices
  • Experience managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and integrated systems
  • Knowledge of system development methods used for development of new systems and enhancements to existing information systems
  • Knowledge of data communications and information systems hardware and software fundamentals
Nice-to-Have Experience
  • Previous government experience
  • Experience working in multiple related roles such as project manager, program manager, coordinator, or executive
