The State of Michigan is seeking a Senior AI Data Engineer / Programmer Analyst 6 to join the MDHHS Analytics & Visualization Division
. This role focuses on advanced data analytics, AI-driven data engineering, and interactive dashboard development to support large-scale healthcare and public-sector initiatives.

• Analyze large, complex datasets to identify trends and actionable insights
• Design and develop dashboards and reports using Power BI, SAP Business Objects, Crystal Reports, and BI Query
• Build and optimize AI-enabled data pipelines on AWS (S3, Glue, Lambda, EMR, Redshift, Kinesis, Sage Maker)
• Develop ETL/ELT workflows ensuring data quality, governance, and compliance
• Write and optimize complex SQL
  , Python
  , and Py Spark solutions
• Work closely with business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable data solutions
• Support AI/ML initiatives and cloud-native analytics platforms
• Maintain documentation, data flows, and reporting standards

• ✔ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related field
• ✔ 3+ years of experience in Data Engineering / Reporting / Analytics
• ✔ 3+ years of experience with AWS cloud & AI platforms
• ✔ Strong experience with Python, PySpark, SQL, Teradata, ETL utilities
• ✔ Expertise in BI tools
  :

• ✔ Solid understanding of data warehousing and analytics best practices
• • Experience with Medicaid or healthcare data
• • Exposure to AI/ML workflows
• • Knowledge of Agile / Dev Ops methodologies
• • Experience with data governance and compliance standards

  Hybrid role – NO remote-only option
