The Michigan League for Public Policy seeks a data analyst or senior data analyst to work on the Kids Count in Michigan project. This is an opportunity for someone with strong data analysis and research skills to promote child well-being across a wide range of policy areas, including education, health, economic security, and family and community factors. The successful candidate will lead the data analysis necessary to promote racial and economic justice policies benefiting families and children in the state of Michigan.
Aboutthe organization
The Michigan League for Public Policy is a statewide research and advocacy organization that works to support economic security, equity and well-being for all Michigan residents through community engagement and the policy making process. The League is the only Michigan organization that holistically provides research, analysis, policy recommendations and advocacy on a wide range of policy issues that impact those with low and moderate incomes and people of color.
All of the League’s work is done through a racial equity lens and is informed by community voices, particularly Black and Brown voices which have historically been left out of policy decisions.
Kids Count in Michigan is part of a broad national effort to measure the well‑being of children at the state and local levels and to use that information to shape efforts to improve the lives of children. For over 30 years, the League has been home to the state’s Kids Count project, producing timely data and analysis for partners across the state.
The team produces the Kids Count in Michigan Data Profiles every year and the Kids Count in Michigan Data Book on a biannual basis. The 2026 Data Profiles will be released on September 17 at our Champions for Kids event in Lansing.
