Job OverviewThis role leads the design of user interface screens, ensures usability and accessibility compliance, and acts as a strong advocate for end users throughout the product lifecycle. The UI/UX Analyst partners closely with Business Analysts, Technical Leads, developers, and stakeholders to deliver solutions that meet or exceed business and customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, architects, technical leads, developers, and QA teams to understand requirements, functionality, scalability, and usability needs.
- Partner with Business Analysts to evaluate existing business processes and systems and translate them into effective interface designs.
- Participate in requirements gathering sessions, Joint Application Modeling (JAM) workshops, and stakeholder brainstorming sessions to identify usability needs and concerns.
- Analyze current user flows, processes, pain points, and user goals to propose effective UX solutions.
- Lead the overall visual design and usability strategy, including screen layouts, design patterns, and usability testing.
- Serve as an advocate for end users, continuously improving usability and user satisfaction within project constraints.
- Create sketches, wireframes, mockups, and high-fidelity interactive prototypes aligned with requirements, user stories, State of Michigan (SOM) Look & Feel Standards, and ADA accessibility guidelines.
- Review wireframes with Business Analysts for business alignment and with Technical Leads for technical feasibility prior to stakeholder presentations.
- Guide development teams on UI/UX best practices, coding standards, and accessibility remediation.
- Ensure all designs conform to SOM Look & Feel Standards.
- Conduct usability and accessibility testing to validate adherence to UI/UX best practices and ADA requirements.
- Facilitate user testing sessions and iterate designs based on feedback.
- Advise developers on accessibility compliance and vulnerability remediation.
- Act as a liaison to the DTMB Center for Shared Solutions (CSS) eMichigan team.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience using wire framing and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, or equivalent.
- Strong experience working with design systems and reusable UI components.
- Experience leading user workshops and facilitating collaborative design sessions.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards and usability best practices.
- Experience with information architecture and user flow design.

3–5+ Years (Required) - Wire framing & Prototyping (Figma, Sketch, or equivalent): 2+ Years (Required)
