The Senior Business Process Reengineer supports the Department of Education’s Office of Educational Supports (OES) in improving and maintaining the Consolidated Application within the Nex Sys platform
, a critical system for distributing federal formula grants to Local Education Agencies (LEAs). This role acts as a strategic liaison across business and technical teams to ensure streamlined processes, compliance, and system functionality.
- Review and document existing grant-related business processes and workflows.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and recommend best-practice improvements.
- Analyze federal policy changes and provide OES with guidance on necessary application updates.
- Facilitate meetings with internal teams, field consultants, and external partners.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for field consultants on application-related issues.
- Communicate project updates, resolutions, and timelines to stakeholders.
- Manage and prioritize operational support requests and enhancement tickets within Azure Dev Ops
. - Collaborate with technical teams (OSET, DTMB, and vendors) to ensure timely issue resolution.
- Translate business needs into clear, actionable technical requirements
.
- Lead and mentor a team of business analysts.
- Facilitate requirement-gathering sessions to align project goals and deliverables.
- Ensure consistent communication and coordination across project teams.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation on Share Point .
- Ensure decisions and process updates are properly tracked for reference and compliance.
- Proven experience in business process reengineering or business analysis
. - Strong knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Experience leading teams in cross-functional or government program settings.
Experience:
- Experience with grant management systems or federally funded programs.
- Prior work within government or education environments.
