Claim Assistant

Overview

This position is responsible for assisting the Human Resources Department/Claims in tracking vehicle crashes, workers’ compensation and unemployment, as well as assisting in the processing of claims.

• Create and maintain files for all claims (crashes, workers’ compensation, unemployment).
• Assisting in the processing of claims for the above areas.
• Willingness to expand knowledge and assigned roles by attending seminars and trainings as determined.
• Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
• Travel to various Dean Operation’s sites throughout the state may occasionally be required (company vehicle provided).

DEAN SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

• Must pass criminal background check and have favorable reference checks.
• Must possess a valid Michigan Driver’s License and have an acceptable driving record.

• Human Resources experience required, prior experience with the above areas preferred.
• High School Diploma required, college degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and Adobe.
• Demonstrate an excellent attendance record.
• Demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a team setting.
• Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills (internal and external).
• Demonstrate excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize and work independently with attention to detail.
• Demonstrate effective and efficient problem solving.
• High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
• Demonstrate the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
