Position: Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

Position Summary

The Children’s Psychiatric Residential Treatment Home is seeking a Board Certified Behavior Analyst to support behavior planning within a multidisciplinary residential treatment program for children and adolescents ages 6–17. This role is designed for a clinician who understands behavior as part of emotional regulation, trauma history, and daily environment, and who can apply behavior analytic principles within a therapeutic, trauma informed setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • functional behavior assessments using direct observation and clinical context
  • Develop and oversee individualized, trauma informed behavior support plans
  • Collaborate with therapists to reinforce DBT skills and treatment goals
  • Consult with the psychiatrist regarding behavioral patterns and medication related considerations
  • Coordinate with nursing staff around health needs and post incident follow up
  • Provide consultation and coaching to direct care staff and supervisors
  • Participate in treatment team meetings and discharge planning
  • Maintain required behavioral documentation in accordance with PRTF and licensing standards
Behavior Support Philosophy

Behavior support in this program is preventive, relational, and least restrictive. Punitive systems and seclusion are not used. Physical intervention is rare and only implemented to restore immediate safety. The focus is on understanding behavior, strengthening coping skills, and supporting repair.

Required Qualifications
  • Current Board Certified Behavior Analyst certification in good standing
  • Experience working with children or adolescents with complex behavioral or mental health needs
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary treatment team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in residential, inpatient, or high acuity settings
  • Familiarity with DBT, trauma informed care, or relational treatment models
  • Comfort coaching and consulting with direct care staff
