Nuclear Medicine Technologist (Travel Assignment)
McLaren Greater Lansing is seeking an experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a 13‑week travel assignment. This role involves performing diagnostic nuclear medicine studies at a technical level that ensures high‑quality imaging and patient care. The technologist will work in a fast‑paced environment requiring autonomy, teamwork, and adherence to safety standards.
Assignment Details- Location: Lansing, MI
- Facility: McLaren Greater Lansing
- Start Date: January 5, 2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift Type: Days
- Shift Times: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM (40‑hour guarantee)
- Weekend Requirements: Every 5th or 6th weekend (Saturday and Sunday)
- On‑Call Requirements: None
- Perform diagnostic nuclear medicine imaging studies in accordance with physician requests.
- Obtain patient history, explain procedures, and address patient concerns to ensure comfort and confidence.
- Operate and maintain nuclear medicine imaging equipment, ensuring proper functionality.
- Measure and prepare concentrations of radioactive isotopes for diagnostic purposes.
- Administer medications/substances within scope of practice as prescribed by licensed practitioners.
- Conduct quality assurance processes and practice radiation safety to minimize exposure.
- Maintain accurate documentation, logs, and records in both paper and electronic formats.
- Ensure adequate supply of consumables for testing.
- Perform routine maintenance and function checks on imaging equipment.
- Assist other radiology areas as needed.
- Comply with The Joint Commission, federal, state, and local regulatory standards.
- Registered in Nuclear Medicine with ARRT or NMTCB.
- Minimum of 2 years of Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience.
- Current BLS certification.
- Strong technical skills and ability to work independently.
- Compliance with health system‑wide profile standards.
- Type of Facility: Tertiary teaching hospital with 240 acute care beds.
- Services: Level III Trauma Center, Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Institute, comprehensive cardiac programs, women and children’s health services, and Karmanos Cancer Institute.
- EMR System: Cerner
- Dress Code: Galaxy Blue scrubs
- Orientation: On‑site, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
