What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
  • Conduct casework and serve as a staff witness for renewable energy and energy storage facility siting applications
  • Analyze evidence submitted by siting applicants to ensure compliance with laws and guidelines
  • Support attorneys in preparing briefs and responses related to siting issues
  • Represent the Commission in meetings with public stakeholders and coordinate with external contractors
  • Monitor compliance of facility siting applicants with Commission orders and provide necessary reports
What is Required (Qualifications)
  • Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major
  • Minimum of one year of professional experience for Departmental Analyst 10 level
  • Minimum of two years of professional experience, including one year at the intermediate level for Departmental Analyst P11 level
  • Minimum of three years of professional experience, including one year at the experienced level for Departmental Analyst 12 level
  • Experience in a related field may be substituted with military service at or above the E-6 level
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Experience in regulatory affairs or renewable energy sector
  • Strong technical writing skills, particularly in legal or compliance contexts
  • Familiarity with Michigan Public Service Commission processes and regulations
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in team settings on complex projects
  • Previous experience in public engagement or stakeholder communication
