Position Description
This position serves as a legal analyst for the Discipline Resolution Section within the Legal Division of the Cannabis Regulatory Agency (CRA). Responsibilities include conducting compliance conferences, considering mitigation, and recommending disciplinary sanctions for licensed marijuana businesses whose violations of the marijuana laws or administrative rules have been substantiated. The role also involves analyzing legislation and other legal matters related to the Marihuana Facilities Licensing Act (MMFLA), Michigan Regulation and Taxation of Marihuana Act (MRTMA), and Michigan Medical Marijuana Act (MMMA).
In addition, the analyst actively manages its caseload of administrative cases and ensures cases are processed timely and within the Division’s established metrics.

Education- Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
- Law degree or Juris Doctorate is preferred.
- Departmental Analyst 9 – No specific type or amount is required.
- Departmental Analyst 10 – One year of professional experience.
- Departmental Analyst P11 – Two years of professional experience, including one year at the intermediate (10) level in state service.
- Departmental Analyst 9–12 – Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and the equivalent of at least two years of full‑time active‑duty experience at or above the E‑6 level in the uniformed services may be substituted for the education requirement.
