A highly active middle-market investment bank is seeking an experienced Investment Banking Associate to join its M&A advisory team in Michigan.
The group has built one of the most active advisory practices serving middle-market companies and private equity sponsors. It is expanding its junior team due to continued deal flow and internal promotions.
Associates on the team play a central role in transaction execution, working directly with senior bankers and clients across a variety of sell-side, buy-side, and strategic advisory engagements.
The team operates with a lean structure, enabling Associates to take on meaningful responsibility across live mandates while gaining exposure to both financial-sponsor and founder-owned transactions.
This opportunity is best suited for someone currently in investment banking or private equity who is looking to join a high-performing platform with consistent deal activity and long-term career growth potential.
ResponsibilitiesAssociates will be actively involved across all phases of transaction execution, including:
- Financial modeling and valuation analysis
- Preparation of confidential information memoranda and management presentations
- Supporting sell-side and buy-side M&A processes
- Coordinating diligence work streams with clients and advisors
- Assisting with buyer and investor outreach processes
- Managing day-to-day transaction execution timelines
- Conducting market and company research
- Supporting negotiations alongside senior bankers
- Mentoring Analysts and supporting junior team development
Associates typically work across multiple live transactions simultaneously, gaining broad exposure to the full lifecycle of M&A execution.
Qualifications- 3–4+ years of investment banking experience at the Analyst or Associate level
- Strong financial modeling and valuation capabilities
- Prior exposure to M&A transactions or corporate finance advisory
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple work streams
- Highly motivated team player with a strong work ethic
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field
Candidates with direct ties to Michigan are strongly preferred.
