We are seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will program machine controllers to meet customer specifications, ensuring safety and efficiency while minimizing engineering time. This role requires designing component layouts that adhere to all applicable specifications, including pneumatics, hydraulics, coolant, and lubrication systems.

• Review control designs with Mechanical Project Engineers and Coordinators before the build phase.
• Obtain quotations for electrical control enclosures and push button stations upon submission of control design for customer approval.
• Evaluate design capabilities and provide accurate information and support documentation to meet customer specifications on time.
• Collaborate with shop personnel in the build, startup, debug, and run-off phases of the machine.
• Provide necessary support for Service and Training personnel during machine startup at customer plants.
• Ensure machine safety compliance with US and Canadian standards.
• Commission machines on the production floor.
• Work with existing controls engineers to create standards for junior team members.

• Proven design experience in circuit design (pneumatic, hydraulic, or fluid systems) using Eplan is required.
• Experience in CNC and PLC programming.
• Proficiency in PLC Programming, specifically Siemens and Allen Bradley PLCs.
• Experience in programming machine tools equipment from the ground up.
• Proficiency in programming Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs).

• Experience with electrical design engineering and Fanuc robots.
• Electrical engineering degree is a plus.

The role is based in a facility that manufactures crankshaft polishing machines for the automotive industry. The team comprises eight members, including two other controls engineers, mechanical engineers, and coordinators. The average workweek is 45 hours, with overtime paid for any hours worked over 40. There is no mandatory travel for this role, but a 15% increase in pay is offered for those who choose to travel.

This is a Permanent position based out of Lansing, MI.

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $115000.00/yr.

This is a fully onsite position in Lansing,MI.
