Job Summary:
The Continuous Improvement Intern will support in evaluating and improving processes for the production of material goods or electronic information. This position will perform responsibilities, such as document and study existing processes, identify points of inefficiency or potential disruptions, and recommend solutions that can streamline operations and improve efficiency.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities for Summer Internship:
* PowerPoint Presentations (projects / progress throughout the internship)
* Data Entry (freight, inventory, packaging, etc.)
* Present for Materials / Continuous Improvement teams during town hall meetings
* Perform cycle counts and reconciliation of any inventory variances
* Help with visual aids, packaging and storage improvements, and other continuous improvement projects as assigned
* Work with all departments (production, quality, engineering, materials, safety, HR) to receive a well-rounded experience
* Conduct assembly station video analysis
* Participate in Kaizen events
* Write up Maintenance Work Orders
* Create pack density configurations for efficient packaging
* Kepner Tregoe / KATA training
* Report accidents, occupational illnesses, and HSE&E emergencies, and inform supervisor of known HSE&E conditions which could adversely affect other team members, assets or to the public

Position Requirements :
* Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university and working towards a 4-year B.S. degree in Engineering, Business or Supply Chain.
* Available to work up to 40 hours per week.
* Minimum overall GPA of at least 3.0.
* Previous internship or co-op experience in automotive related position an added plus.
* CAD experience CATIA or Unigraphics is an added plus.
* Solid analytical skills and work effectively with customers, suppliers, and the development team.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills; attention to detail, organization skills and follow up.
* Proficient in MS Office.
