Location: REMOTE
Occasional Travel to MI sites - (10% travel between Lansing to Detroit area sites)
Hourly pay - 45hr- 55hr DOE (1.5 OT)
Seeking a Controls Engineer / PLC Programmer to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to work on projects across all phases.
This is an excellent opportunity for a controls engineer with PLC troubleshooting skills who is seeking professional growth within a well-established organization.
Key Responsibilities:Program PLCs and HMIs for automation and control systems.
Specify and select electrical components, PLCs, and instrumentation based on engineering principles and project requirements.
Develop electrical schematics.
Troubleshoot hardware and software systems.
Design and debug SCADA and Data Acquisition Systems.
Perform power-up, debugging, and calibration of control systems.
Support the development and standardization of design platforms.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred)
2+ years of hands-on PLC and HMI/SCADA programming
Proficient with major PLC platforms (Rockwell OR Siemens, GE, Modicon, Emerson Control Wave, etc.)
Experience with HMI/SCADA platforms (Factory Talk, Maple, VTSCADA, Wonderware, Ignition, etc.) a PLUS
Industrial electrical experience including 480
VAC 3-phase, 120
VAC, 24
VDC systems, and VFDs - a PLUSStrong troubleshooting of automation controls (motor starters, VFDs, electrical components)
Skills:
Knowledge of process control instrumentation is a Plus
Logical and systematic problem-solving abilities
Familiarity with industry standards and regulations (NEC, IEEE, NFPA, OSHA) - is a plus
Ability to read, revise, and develop PLC logic, HMI/SCADA programs, and VFD parameters
Strong attention to detail for maintaining accurate drawings, BOMs, and equipment documentation
