Are you a dedicated Emergency Medicine physician looking for flexible, rewarding locum opportunities? McLaren Medical Group Greater Lansing is seeking a highly skilled Locum Physician to provide exceptional emergency care in a dynamic and well-supported environment.
This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes while enjoying flexible scheduling and competitive compensation.
In this vital position, you will contribute to managing approximately 110 daily ED visits at a Level 3 Trauma Center with an annual volume of around 40,000 cases. You'll work alongside a full nursing team, 12 hours of APP coverage daily, and current use of Cerner EHR, supporting high-quality care delivery. Key responsibilities include supervising APP and resident providers, performing a variety of emergency procedures such as intubation, suturing, and joint reductions, and managing diverse patient cases from pediatric to adult populations.
Required Skills:
- Valid medical license and current DEA certification
- Board certification or eligibility in Emergency Medicine
- Proven experience in acute care and emergency procedures
- Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills
- Ability to supervise and collaborate effectively with APPs and residents
- Proficiency in EHR documentation (Cerner preferred)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Skills:
- Experience in trauma cases, including Level 3 trauma protocols
- Familiarity with hospitalist workflows and admission procedures
- Advanced airway management and ventilation skills
- Experience with pediatric emergency cases
Education and Experience:
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Minimum of 2 years of ED experience in a hospital setting
- Previous locum or PRN experience preferred
- Availability to start on or after March 1, 2026
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must clock in/out using Doc Time (no timesheets)
- Compliance with all state and federal licensing, certification, and healthcare regulations
- Ability to travel to various shifts as scheduled, with expenses covered according to policy
