Emergency Medicine Physician

A large Michigan health system is seeking Board-Certified Emergency Medicine physicians for an ongoing locum float pool covering multiple Emergency Departments across the state. This is a great opportunity for physicians looking for schedule flexibility, variety in practice settings, and consistent PRN coverage into 2026 .

Providers accepted into the float pool will receive open shift availability via email and may work across one or multiple sites based on preference and availability.

• West Branch, MI Freestanding ED (Lower volume)

• Mt. Pleasant, MI Community Hospital ED

• Lansing, MI Level III Trauma Center (Higher volume / resident & APP support)

• Bay City, MI Regional Hospital ED

• Grand Ledge, MI New Freestanding ED (growing volumes)

• Coverage Type: Locum / PRN (Float Pool)

• Start: March 2026 (ongoing)

• Shifts: Mix of 12-hour and 24-hour shifts (days, nights, weekends available)

• EMR: Cerner across all sites

• Support: Full nursing staff, APP coverage at most sites, hospitalist support for admissions

• No Call (ED coverage only)

• Daily volumes range from 20 to 110 patients/day

• Annual ED volumes from 9,000 to 40,000

• Mix of freestanding, community, and regional hospital settings

• Trauma Level III exposure available at select locations

• Full-spectrum Emergency Medicine

• Standard ED procedures, including airway management, central/arterial lines, ortho care, laceration repair, I&Ds, EKG interpretation, and management of medical and psychiatric emergencies

• APP and/or resident supervision required at select sites only

• Board Certified Emergency Medicine
  (Some sites will consider IM/FM physicians with strong recent EM experience)

• Active Michigan medical license (IMLC not accepted for these sites)

• ACLS, BLS (ATLS/PALS as applicable by site)

• Clean malpractice and background history

• Ability to work onsite (local/regional candidates preferred)

• Multiple practice environments under one contract

• Flexible PRN scheduling
