Overview
Cavanaugh Dental is seeking a skilled and compassionate Full-Time Hygiene Assistant to join our team. As a Hygiene Assistant, you will work closely with our Hygienists and other team members to provide exceptional dental care and ensure the highest standards of hygiene and patient satisfaction for our patients. The Hygiene Assistant will be responsible for supporting the dental hygiene team in providing excellent patient care and maintaining a clean, sterile, and organized environment.

Tuesday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Thursday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Prepare treatment rooms and patients for dental hygiene procedures, including setting up equipment, sterilizing instruments, and ensuring patient comfort.
- Follow safety policies and procedures through OSHA compliance and BBP.
- Polish and floss the patient after they have been scaled by the hygienist, and assist in patient education by explaining oral hygiene instructions and post-procedure care as directed by the dental hygienist or dentist.
- Take dental radiographs, ensuring they are diagnostic and that all safety measures are followed.
- Maintain and monitor dental supplies, restock treatment rooms, and inform the office manager when supplies need to be replenished.
- Accurately record patient information and treatment details in Denticon.
- Ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of treatment areas, waiting rooms, and common areas, including disinfection of surfaces and equipment.
- Adhere to all regulatory guidelines of HIPAA to ensure a compliant working environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a dental assistant class is preferred.
- Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures.
- Self-motivated and a critical thinker.
- Ability to multitask to plan out your day and stay on time.
- Basic understanding of infection control and sterilization protocols.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment.
