Staff Accountant- Entry Level

Description

Summary:

The Entry-Level Staff Accountant supports the accounting team by performing day‑to‑day financial tasks, assisting with month-end close activities, and ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions. This role is ideal for individuals beginning their accounting career with strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and a desire to learn and grow within the accounting function.

Key Responsibilities

+ Assist with general ledger entries, including journal entries, accruals, and account adjustments.

+ Perform account reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, balance sheet accounts, and vendor statements.

+ Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice coding, payment posting, and customer billing.

+ Help prepare monthly financial reports and assist with month-end and year-end close tasks.

+ Maintain accurate and organized financial documentation in accordance with company policies.

+ Assist with expense reports, vendor setup, and invoice tracking.

+ Provide support for audits by gathering documentation and preparing schedules as needed.

+ Help analyze financial data and identify discrepancies or trends.

+ Collaborate with team members on special projects and process improvements.

Requirements

Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or working toward degree).

+ Basic understanding of accounting principles (GAAP preferred).

+ Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; familiarity with accounting software (Quick Books, Net Suite, SAP, etc.) a plus.

+ Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

+ Analytical, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks.

+ Effective communication skills and a willingness to learn.

Preferred Skills (Optional)

+ Internship or hands-on experience in AP/AR, bookkeeping, or general accounting.

+

Experience with reconciliations or journal entries.

+ Knowledge of financial reporting basics.
