Job Description Patient Access Manager – West Region.
Location:
Remote/West Region. Empowered. We foster transparency, integrity, and trust; deliver excellence; and encourage collaboration and ownership. We are currently searching for experienced professionals to join our team as a Patient Access Manager for the West Region.
- Lead regional efforts to support services education to patients, families/caregivers, healthcare professionals (nurses, medical assistants, office staff), nursing organizations, advocacy groups, and community organizations using approved materials.
- Engage with patients and caregivers through phone, virtual, and in-person meetings to enhance understanding of treatment and the patient journey.
- Collaborate with Specialty Pharmacy (SP) to help resolve access barriers, including issues with prior authorizations, step therapy, and denials through interactions with HCP reimbursement process education.
- Provide education and information through the prior authorization/appeal processes and coordinate the delivery of appropriate documentation to achieve and maintain coverage.
- Be knowledgeable of any changes in the payer access environment to identify issues that may impact access and communicate information appropriately to colleagues.
- Build trusted relationships with patient communities, advocacy groups, and professional organizations to expand awareness and support.
- Actively collaborate with field and internal colleagues to increase disease-state awareness, promote early diagnosis, and support patient access.
- Provide timely updates and work closely with regional colleagues to ensure coordinated support and seamless patient experiences.
- Maintain disease-state and product expertise through continuing education, conferences, and symposia participation.
- Offer feedback on existing workplans and propose innovative service offerings to improve patient and community engagement.
- Accurately document all interactions in compliance with company policies and industry regulations and complete required entries in CRM systems to track activity, outcomes, and metrics.
- Escalate clinical or medical inquiries to appropriate teams to ensure accurate and compliant responses.
- Ensure full compliance with corporate policies, regulatory guidelines, and industry standards as defined by Commercial, Legal, Regulatory, and Compliance leadership.
- Possess integrity, work with honesty, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Work on other responsibilities as assigned by your manager.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN), Pharmacy, or other healthcare related fields preferred.
- Current or prior nursing/clinical background strongly preferred.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in patient education, advocacy, pharmaceutical industry, or clinical practice.
- Experience supporting and providing education to patients, family members, healthcare professionals, office staff, nursing organizations, and community groups affected by rare and ultra-rare genetic diseases (required).
- Experience working with rare disease or specialty therapeutics is a plus.
- Strong presentation skills and ability to engage diverse audiences in multiple settings (in-person, virtual, group, and one-on-one).
