Key Responsibilities Business Partnership & Decision Support
- Serve as a trusted finance partner to Operations and Manufacturing leaders
- Translate complex financial and operational data into clear, actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders
- Proactively identify trends, risks, and opportunities throughout the month
- Ask thoughtful questions and respectfully challenge assumptions to deepen understanding and improve decision-making
- Partner with Finance and Operations leadership to support enterprise-level decision-making and advance digital and analytical maturity across manufacturing
- Analyze cost of goods sold (COGS), labor, materials, overhead, and inventory movements
- Deliver timely reporting and insights to Manufacturing FP&A and operational teams
- Identify cost drivers and performance trends impacting margin and efficiency
- Reconcile inventory transactions and valuations
- Ensure accurate valuation of raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods
- Manage allocations and intercompany eliminations (Revenue, COGS, Inventory)
- Review and resolve purchase order and purchase price variances
- Provide clarity and context on monthly results
- Prepare SAP for each planning cycles (accounts, cost centers, elements)
- Maintain and enhance allocation models
- Develop, maintain, and refine standard costs for labor, overhead, and materials
- Partner with Operations to explain cost drivers, tradeoffs, and implications
- Identify opportunities for cost control and savings
- Maintain inventory classifications and system integrity
- Audit SAP controls to ensure data accuracy and compliance
- Own standard cost rolls and related system maintenance, including order settlements
- Support internal and external audits; ensure adherence to GAAP and internal controls
- Drive process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste
- Support system enhancements and adoption of best practices
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
- 5+ years of accounting experience
- 3+ years of cost or manufacturing accounting experience
- SAP experience strongly preferred
- Experience in a standard cost environment
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across functions
- Intellectual curiosity and a desire to understand how the business operates
- Confidence to ask questions and respectfully challenge assumptions
- Ability to influence without authority through insight and credibility
