Job Description

The Staff Accountant role provides hands‑on experience in general ledger accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, and exposure to internal controls and compliance processes. Ideal candidates will be detail‑oriented and organized, aiming to build a strong foundation in corporate accounting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
  • Prepare journal entries and support general ledger maintenance.
  • Complete account reconciliations and maintain organized supporting documentation.
  • Help analyze financial results and research budget-to-actual variances.
  • Support internal control processes and gain exposure to SOX compliance requirements.
  • Assist with external audit preparation and documentation requests.
  • Contribute to ad hoc financial and operational analysis.
  • Partner with internal teams to support reporting and data requests.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis of accounting transactions and general ledger accounts.
  • Support operational data and reporting requests.
  • Build an understanding of the business operations and industry.
  • Collaborate with team members and maintain a positive, team‑oriented attitude.
  • Adhere to all internal policies, procedures, and regulatory guidance.
  • Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
    • 0–3 years of accounting experience (internship experience welcomed).
    • Foundational understanding of GAAP principles and SOX compliance.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, basic formulas; Power Query a plus but not required).
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage deadlines.
    • Detail‑oriented with solid analytical skills.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Willingness to learn, take feedback, and grow professionally.
    • Self‑motivated with a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
    Preferred Skills
    • Exposure to ERP systems preferred (JD Edwards or Oracle Fusion a plus, but not required).
    • Experience in construction or project‑based industries is helpful but not required.
